Easter 2019

Easter 2019  - it was a great weekend!!  We celebrated Easter by doing some fun things.

On Friday we went to my mom's to paint eggs - this is my mom's favorite tradition.  She blows the eggs out of the shells, washes them out, then we paint them.  It's fun.   She has done this since Alexandra was small so I love that we still do it.  We also made rice krispie eggs as a small treat.  they turned out pretty cute too

My aunt Maria showed up to drop off her dog at my mom's house and joined in the fun

On Saturday, Erik, Elaina and I participated in the Forget Me Not 5k for Alzheimers  Erik did great!  Elaina and I finished, lol.  But, it was fun to get up as a family and do this.

My friend, Patty Lauren,  and personal trainer coordinated this and had a team there.   This lady means a lot to me.
After this we headed over to Erik's parents house to celebrate Easter with some food and an egg hunt.  It was super fun.

Easter Sunday, we got up, made breakfast at home (this is actually a first for Easter for us).  My mom and Gale came over early to eat with us, then we headed to church.  It was nice - we have not been to church on Easter on a Sunday in a while.  We usually hit one of the other services our church has before Sunday.   And, just like everyone else in the country, had to have photo op time in our Sunday best.

Snow

Not much snow this winter.....in fact, I would hardly call it a winter.  It's Feb 23rd and 70 degrees today.  So......?? We did have one day where it snowed and was cold enough to make a fire.  Below is one of 2 fires (maybe 3) we have had this year.  Makes me sad.  I mean, I am not a huge fan of cold but I do think we need a winter.  Here are some pics to prove it did snow. We cuddled up on the air mattress in the living room next to the the fire one night and watched a movie.  Fun memory The next day, Elaina and her friend Ainsley made a fort out of said air mattress Elaina and her friend Ainsley played in the snow.  We had a kids vs parents snow ball fight (a real one).  It was fun...I got nailed in the face with a snowball.  That is a sign of a good snowball fight!!! Good times! Cute girls in their onesies....

Cheer Camp 2017

Elaina did cheer camp this year....again.  As always, she LOVED it (as expected).  She got to be with her favorite cheerleader who is a senior this year.  And, her friend Ainsley was in her group.  So, it was a total success in Elaina's eyes.... Elaina, Ainsley, and Emmie Koree (Elaina's fave), Elain, Ainsley, and Bailey And a video.....Elaina is behind her teacher a good bit of the time.  Sorry about that.

Fall/Thanksgiving update

It's February...now seems like a good time to update my blog with all the happenings from November and December, right?  Okay.  Good. Elaina cheered again last fall...her team go to meet Josh Dobbs and Todd Kelly, Jr. at one of the games.  It was pretty cool.  Their team won the championship which was fun to be a part of. Elaina's honors choir sang in the Veterans Day program.  My dad came and ate lunch with us afterwords.  It was super fun having him come.   He is always so fun!    Here is a cute shot of Elaina and her friend, Tatum, before we left for the end of the year cheer party The whole team with their trophies at the end of the year party Some time in November (way to soon), Elaina and I went to an ornament exchange party in our PJs.  We had fun  The coolest kid on the block....my sweet niece, Tessa, who came to visit in November for a UT game/early Thanksgiving celebration My sister rented a tent at the UT vs. Missouri game this f
