For the 1 person who reads this (Erik)......I'm back!!!!!

I have thought about it....and I miss my blog.  Not because it is read by anyone other than Erik and maybe a small handful of other people on occasion but, I think I miss having that spot I can go to and reminisce over memories.  I don't want to lose that that.  I know there will be a 2 year void of pictures and events but I know that 20 years down the road I will be glad I picked it back up.

I do have pics/events documented on IG so that is good.  But this blog allows me to share my words more - how I felt about the particular event I am posting about.  Or, maybe even just my opinion in general.  Who knows...we shall see.

For now, let's just pick up with the latest event in our house - Elaina made the MS cheer team for the second year in a row!  We are very excited for her - she is excited too.  She has come SO far in a year.  When we entered into year one we ALL had no idea how any of this cheer stuff worked.  We have done recreation league cheer but this was a whole different animal.  We endured a lot of growth, tears, and learning last year.  But, this year, she stepped up to cheer with a whole different outlook.  She was so confident during the tryouts and did so well - even the coach pulled her aside and told her how great she did and how much she has grown.

Anyways...proud mom moment.  We are proud and looking forward to another year.  This year several of her close 6th grade friends made the team so this may prove to be a really fun year.

yay!!!!

Snow

Not much snow this winter.....in fact, I would hardly call it a winter.  It's Feb 23rd and 70 degrees today.  So......?? We did have one day where it snowed and was cold enough to make a fire.  Below is one of 2 fires (maybe 3) we have had this year.  Makes me sad.  I mean, I am not a huge fan of cold but I do think we need a winter.  Here are some pics to prove it did snow. We cuddled up on the air mattress in the living room next to the the fire one night and watched a movie.  Fun memory The next day, Elaina and her friend Ainsley made a fort out of said air mattress Elaina and her friend Ainsley played in the snow.  We had a kids vs parents snow ball fight (a real one).  It was fun...I got nailed in the face with a snowball.  That is a sign of a good snowball fight!!! Good times! Cute girls in their onesies....

Cheer Camp 2017

Elaina did cheer camp this year....again.  As always, she LOVED it (as expected).  She got to be with her favorite cheerleader who is a senior this year.  And, her friend Ainsley was in her group.  So, it was a total success in Elaina's eyes.... Elaina, Ainsley, and Emmie Koree (Elaina's fave), Elain, Ainsley, and Bailey And a video.....Elaina is behind her teacher a good bit of the time.  Sorry about that.

Fall/Thanksgiving update

It's February...now seems like a good time to update my blog with all the happenings from November and December, right?  Okay.  Good. Elaina cheered again last fall...her team go to meet Josh Dobbs and Todd Kelly, Jr. at one of the games.  It was pretty cool.  Their team won the championship which was fun to be a part of. Elaina's honors choir sang in the Veterans Day program.  My dad came and ate lunch with us afterwords.  It was super fun having him come.   He is always so fun!    Here is a cute shot of Elaina and her friend, Tatum, before we left for the end of the year cheer party The whole team with their trophies at the end of the year party Some time in November (way to soon), Elaina and I went to an ornament exchange party in our PJs.  We had fun  The coolest kid on the block....my sweet niece, Tessa, who came to visit in November for a UT game/early Thanksgiving celebration My sister rented a tent at the UT vs. Missouri game this f
