We're back....on a different page

So, for those of you who have followed us over here to this blog site.

Welcome!!

I have been MIA to the blogging world for lots of reasons but mainly, it was getting too hard.  About a year and half ago, I changed emails which lead to lots of issues with my google accounts.   Basically, our old blog was tied to my old google account that did not store my most recent photos.  So, to update the blog took lots of time to transfer pictures, then upload them on to the blog.  Time I never seem to have.

So, my solution.....start a totally new blog page that is attached to my current google account.  This way uploading pics is easy.

Hopefully this means I can keep my blog current.  I talked about giving it up but bottom line is we LOVE the memories that are captured on it.   So, let's get started again.

There is no possible way to catch up for almost a year of blogging.  So, let's hit the highlights of the past few months:

Elaina started 4th grade.  She is still at Grace.  Boy, do we ever love her school.  She has Mrs. Giles. this year.  So far, it's been a fun year.  She made honors choir which she seems to like (stay tuned for some pics/video of that - her first performance is tonight).   She is still taking piano lessons and is doing well with those.

First day photos:

She is also still doing cheer which she LOVES!!  She takes tumbling once a week too and love that.  We got a trampoline so as you can imagine she spends a good deal of time on it.  She can now do a round off double back handspring which is pretty cool.

Her best friend Kaitilyn is cheering again this year.  She has also made some really great new friends this year too.

On July 6th, Elaina turned 9.  I may blog on that later.  But, in case I don't....We spent her bday at a water park - Wild Bear Falls - with her BFF Kaitilyn.  It was a super fun day.

The birthday girl on her birthday

She got some flowers from our friends Dave and Tonja

Also, my sister had her second daughter not too long ago.  Her name is Tessa.  She is perfect.  She had her on July 7th (7/7) .  Get this....she weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces.  She is the 7th grandchild.  AND, she was born on the 7th floor of the hospital.  She is our little lucky 7 :)

While in Nashville meeting Tessa, I took Elaina to the new American Girl store for lunch and to have her doll's hair done.  Sadie and Celia (her fave cousins) went with us.   Each girl brought their dolls.  We had a yummy "tea" with sandwiches/goodies.

And, just for fun....we still find pics such as these randomly on my phone....

BTW, these glasses are fake - she got them for her bday with a Claire gift card that she got.  They are cute, just not real or necessary

Okay - that is enough for now...thanks for stopping over to see us and catch up.

For the 1 person who reads this (Erik)......I'm back!!!!!

I have thought about it....and I miss my blog.  Not because it is read by anyone other than Erik and maybe a small handful of other people on occasion but, I think I miss having that spot I can go to and reminisce over memories.  I don't want to lose that that.  I know there will be a 2 year void of pictures and events but I know that 20 years down the road I will be glad I picked it back up.  I do have pics/events documented on IG so that is good.  But this blog allows me to share my words more - how I felt about the particular event I am posting about.  Or, maybe even just my opinion in general.  Who knows...we shall see. For now, let's just pick up with the latest event in our house - Elaina made the MS cheer team for the second year in a row!  We are very excited for her - she is excited too.  She has come SO far in a year.  When we entered into year one we ALL had no idea how any of this cheer stuff worked.  We have done re...

Christmas 2016

After Thanksgiving comes Christmas....Here is our Christmas festivities for 2016: Elaina has a new friend who is in her her class this year, Ainsley.  Ainsley has gone to Grace for several years but she and Elaina have not had class together until this year.  They have become fast friends, to say the least.  We just love sweet Ainsley.  She came with us to Fantasy of Trees this  year.  They did all the usual things.......we love going to the Fantasy of the Trees.  It really kicks off Christmas for us. Coordinated outfits.....but of course! We hung out with our friends, the Crass's one evening for a viewing of Christmas Vacation.  Erik had not seen it in its entirety and did not appreciate it to its fullest.  So, Evan wanted to walk him through it to give him a better appreciation.  We had fun - I got to drink egg nog out of this moose glass - awesome! Elaina had a solo part in her school Christ...

Snow

Not much snow this winter.....in fact, I would hardly call it a winter.  It's Feb 23rd and 70 degrees today.  So......?? We did have one day where it snowed and was cold enough to make a fire.  Below is one of 2 fires (maybe 3) we have had this year.  Makes me sad.  I mean, I am not a huge fan of cold but I do think we need a winter.  Here are some pics to prove it did snow. We cuddled up on the air mattress in the living room next to the the fire one night and watched a movie.  Fun memory The next day, Elaina and her friend Ainsley made a fort out of said air mattress Elaina and her friend Ainsley played in the snow.  We had a kids vs parents snow ball fight (a real one).  It was fun...I got nailed in the face with a snowball.  That is a sign of a good snowball fight!!! Good times! Cute girls in their onesies....
