Fall Fun 2016

Let's do a recap of some of the fun fall activities we have had the past few weeks....

We had a game night with our dear friends, the Hall's and Breaux.  We ate dinner, made Halloween cupcakes, and played games.  Super fun night!  I adore our friends and they adore Elaina (which is such a blessing).  They love her so much and that is truly special

Our current favorite game is Googly Eyes.  You have to draw pictures wearing these ridiculous glasses that blur your vision.  So much fun!

The next day we painted pumpkins with Elaina's friend Kaitilyn....always a fun activity

They did a little swinging too...

The following day, we went with our small group to the Mayfield Dairy Corn Maze/Pumpkin Patch.  We had never been to this one before and it was totally worth the drive.  They had all sorts of fun things for the kids to do...

This super fun slide...

A zip line...what??

A pumpkin patch...

A hay ride...and kettle corn!

the coolest "corn" made out of milk jugs.  I couldn't' get over the creativity behind this corn made out of milk jugs

A big bouncy pillow....
They also had pig races which was hilarious among other things....Good times.

Halloween weekend, Elaina's friend Kaitilyn had a Halloween party/sleepover.  She has 11 girls spend the night at her house.

11!!!

E-LEV-EN!

She is my hero.  They had fun.  She set up a hay ride, a haunted maze through their woods, and dinner in the barn...it was super fun.  We stayed to help with the festivities but left before bedtime.  It was very fun.

The girls all wore their Halloween costumes

Our friend, Joni Lynne got a "mom" ride in the hay before the kids jumped in.
We carved pumpkins this year...as usual.
Elaina carved her completely by her self.  Pretty cool.

Mine is on the left, Elaina's is the kitty cat one in the middle, Erik's is on the right..

And finally, Halloween came and went.  Elaina was a Baker....I love this idea.  A costume she can actually use again for a while.  Her friend Ainsley came over to trick or treat with us.  Ainsley is a new friend...Elaina and her are fast friends and have a lot of fun together.  I am glad they came over and trick or treat with us.  We had fun and are excited about our new found friendship

Ainsley's costume was super cute too,  she was a dead doll

This is "post" trick or treating...they loaded up, as expected.

For the 1 person who reads this (Erik)......I'm back!!!!!

I have thought about it....and I miss my blog.  Not because it is read by anyone other than Erik and maybe a small handful of other people on occasion but, I think I miss having that spot I can go to and reminisce over memories.  I don't want to lose that that.  I know there will be a 2 year void of pictures and events but I know that 20 years down the road I will be glad I picked it back up.  I do have pics/events documented on IG so that is good.  But this blog allows me to share my words more - how I felt about the particular event I am posting about.  Or, maybe even just my opinion in general.  Who knows...we shall see. For now, let's just pick up with the latest event in our house - Elaina made the MS cheer team for the second year in a row!  We are very excited for her - she is excited too.  She has come SO far in a year.  When we entered into year one we ALL had no idea how any of this cheer stuff worked.  We have done re...

Easter 2019

Easter 2019  - it was a great weekend!!  We celebrated Easter by doing some fun things.  On Friday we went to my mom's to paint eggs - this is my mom's favorite tradition.  She blows the eggs out of the shells, washes them out, then we paint them.  It's fun.   She has done this since Alexandra was small so I love that we still do it.  We also made rice krispie eggs as a small treat.  they turned out pretty cute too My aunt Maria showed up to drop off her dog at my mom's house and joined in the fun On Saturday, Erik, Elaina and I participated in the Forget Me Not 5k for Alzheimers  Erik did great!  Elaina and I finished, lol.  But, it was fun to get up as a family and do this. My friend, Patty Lauren,  and personal trainer coordinated this and had a team there.   This lady means a lot to me. After this we headed over to Erik's parents house to celebrate Easter with some fo...

Snow

Not much snow this winter.....in fact, I would hardly call it a winter.  It's Feb 23rd and 70 degrees today.  So......?? We did have one day where it snowed and was cold enough to make a fire.  Below is one of 2 fires (maybe 3) we have had this year.  Makes me sad.  I mean, I am not a huge fan of cold but I do think we need a winter.  Here are some pics to prove it did snow. We cuddled up on the air mattress in the living room next to the the fire one night and watched a movie.  Fun memory The next day, Elaina and her friend Ainsley made a fort out of said air mattress Elaina and her friend Ainsley played in the snow.  We had a kids vs parents snow ball fight (a real one).  It was fun...I got nailed in the face with a snowball.  That is a sign of a good snowball fight!!! Good times! Cute girls in their onesies....
